GNOME 3.0, here we come

I really like the recent efforts to streamline the work towards GNOME 3.0. I'm in favor of all points on the roadmap. Especially the point about re-designing gnome.org. That's a task that is overdue for a long time. Hopefully, the re-design points out why GNOME rocks and makes it easy for interested people to find a way to contribute. What I'd love to see is a way to search API docs like gotapi does.

The release team did a great job providing a vision what GNOME 3.0 should be. This reminds me of a post on Seth Godin's blog I recently read. Having a clear mission we can finally stop whining and actually do stuff that brings us closer to our final goal: GNOME 3.0.

I can certainly understand why old libs should be removed, but I'm not sold on the desktop makeover. I suspect I wouldn't use that sidebar thingy (it looks too clumsy to me).

It has been a long time coming but very impressed with the ideas being put into the new version of Gnome, what about you what are you looking forward to the most in the new version?
