NewStuffManager gone Mono

It’s been a long time since my last post. But I have good news for you. I reimplemented NewStuffManager in Mono. Download the beta at www.k-d-w.org/clipboard/NewStuffManager/new-stuff-manager-0.2beta.tar.gzThis version makes use of the really awesome managed D-Bus maintained by alp. Compared to the previous Python implementation the Mono version takes only 13 of memory usage. In addition, it’s caching the respository’s XML file and only downloads it again if the cached file is older as the remote file. Still missing are checking of PGP signatures and checksums and support for extracting ZIP archives. In the future, I’m going to add a progress indicator while extracting files. In addition I updated the Deskbar-Applet patch to work against the newest CVS version. You can grab at at my git repository.
